Relentlessly dreaming
of possibilities & potential
for brands, agencies, & people.

Hello, I’m Chris MacNeil. With 20 years’ experience creating disruptive, innovative, and award-winning work for iconic brands like Target, Walmart, Old Navy, Pepsi, Gatorade, and Visa, I create work and strategies that connect with culture and move people. I've also collaborated with some of today's most prominent artists including Taylor Swift, Adele, Imagine Dragons, Nick Jonas, Nicki Minaj, One Direction, Garth Brooks, Gwen Stefani, and Maren Morris to create album launches that stoke cultural conversation and fuel fandoms.

If you like intersection metaphors, you can find me playing at the crossroads of art and commerce, craft and innovation.

Currently, I am Executive Creative Director at Deutsch LA. Here I‘ve built and manage fully-integrated and multicultural teams that work across the marketing funnel. As part of the leadership team at Deutsch, I’ve helped with new business wins for Walmart, Peacock, and St. Jude’s. And I have helped our agency earn recognition as 2023 Finalist for Adweek Agency of the Year, and #4 on Adage's Agency A-List 2021.

Most recently I launched Walmart+, the Amazon Prime rival membership; worked with Elton John and David Furnish to create Elton John Eyewear, collaborated with Milly’s Michelle Smith and Soul Cycle’s Stacey Griffith to design the identity and launch of their athleisure brand Love & Sports, and gave communities a reason to look up during a holiday season in lockdown with the innovative Walmart Holiday Drone Tour.

Prior to this I worked at Chandelier Creative under Richard Christiansen where I helped build their LA office and run Old Navy.

Before this I was at my first run at Deutsch LA working on Target under Pete Favat and Karen Costello. While there I was responsible for many innovative firsts. The first live music video on TV with Gwen Stefani during the Grammys, hijacking the Grammys the year prior by creating the first live commercial on TV with Imagine Dragons. And years before live-stream shopping was a thing, we created a 24/7 live-streaming shoppable dorm experience for Target.

I spent my formative years at ChiatDay where I was fortunate to be mentored by Xanthe Wells, Rob Schwartz, and Lee Clow working on Pepsi, Gatorade, Visa, and Nissan/Infiniti and the now infamous Theranos. While there I led a global network of teams on the creative vision for Pepsi’s first global campaign, and helped launch the Pepsi Refresh Project: the first social-good campaign of its kind.

I’m very fortunate to have collaborated with the people I’ve been able to in my career. And if you’ve read this far I’m sure I’d be fortunate to know you too. Please say hello.

I’m a proud girl dad. Nothing inspires me to dream bigger than my daughter Ziggy.
